Vorpal’s proven expertise in this area has resulted in operational deployment of its drone situational awareness solution, VigilAir, by discerning customers globally, and is aimed at the aviation, military, homeland security, critical infrastructures, corrections and UAS traffic management (UTM) markets.
The EN50155 standard determines the operation, design, construction, and testing of electronic equipment deployed for rolling stocks and railway applications. To ensure reliable performance under the unexpected power anomalies, such as voltage variations, power interruptions, and supply changeover, Lanner’s railway computing gateways have been EN50155 certified and undergone a series of environmental testing.
This innovative solution captures images of the user’s 4 fingertips from a single wave of the hand in less than a second. Its unique dynamic acquisition capability allows subjects to be ‘on the move’ during fingerprint capture. MorphoWave Desktop is therefore unchallenged in a wide range of applications where high-speed enrollment and matching, as well as convenience and security are key requirements. This includes border control, flow management and securing sensitive sites. By vastly reducing capture time to less than a second, efficiency and throughput are increased without compromising accuracy.
Surveon Technology is pleased to announce that the world leading maritime and naval CCTV systems integrator has chosen Surveon as their partner for surveillance application. The weather conditions on the sea are always changing, it can be challenging for the outdoor cameras to be able to function properly and record clear images all the time. Surveon 2MP CAM3371EM can handle harsh outdoor conditions, ensuring video footage can still be available in the environment of temperature from −40°C (−40°F) to 50°C (122°F) and 90%+ humidity.
I have mentioned in this space before that I have the opportunity to travel a lot and that this has afforded me an excellent view into how airports are run. But my perspective is not limited to their inner workings. In fact, from my office here in Montreal, I can see the O6L and 24R runways at the P.E. Trudeau airport. This means that, every once in a while, I get to watch these feats of engineering and technology move through the air. And I am reminded of the incredible precision required to get so many planes safely through take-off and landing every day. At the same time, I also know that any disruption on the airfield —no matter how small— can delay flights or threaten security.
With aircrafts, cargos, passengers, luggage and store operation in one huge area, airport operation is one of the most complex tasks. With so many people and things bustling around, security becomes the top priority for every section from check-in areas, passport control areas to runways in the airport. Surveon airport solutions help the administration bureau to deploy security at the highest level. The complete solutions include wide areas covering cameras with advanced video functions such as WDR, RAID NVR with large extended storage, and the best C/P value VMS with built-in 12 video analytics, keeping airport a safe environment.
Dedrone, the market and technology leader in airspace security, announced that its team of Echodyne Corporation, Squarehead Technologies and Battelle, won first place at ThunderDrone’s “Game of Drones” outdoor demonstration at Nellis Air Force Base and AFWERX enclave, June 18-20. Hosted by AFWERX, Team Dedrone bested five other teams in the last of three ThunderDrone rapid prototyping events focusing on countering small, unmanned aerial drones. Team Dedrone successfully demonstrated the capabilities of a layered detection, tracking, classification and mitigation solution that defends protected airspace against aerial drone threats.

Senstar announce it has delivered the perfect perimeter intrusion detection (PIDS) solution to protect the perimeter of one of North America’s largest cargo airports. Due to the facility’s unique perimeter security requirements, Senstar combined multiple technologies to form a comprehensive system that effectively protects the airport and keeps the nuisance alarm rate (NAR) low. With a busy road running along one side of the airport’s five-mile perimeter, and people using the airport’s fence to lean on while waiting at bus stops, a fence-mounted solution alone would have been an NAR nightmare.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum was founded in 1972 and is the largest in Canada to house priceless and restored World War I and II Warplanes, including bomber planes used by the Canadian military in Iraq and Afghanistan. Deploying VIVOTEK cameras at the Warplane Heritage Museum was an ambitious task due to the structure of the site being an airplane hangar housing over 50 Warplane Heritage airplanes. The outside perimeters of the museum contain extremely dark zones and parking lots, requiring equipment with very strong IR capabilities to provide sufficient monitoring.
Cancun Airport is Mexico’s second busiest airport, after Mexico City, but the biggest for international passengers. The number of passengers has been growing quickly, from seven million in 1999 to approximately 23 million annually today. With the number of visitors increasing sharply, passenger safety and security has become more demanding and has required a comprehensive new security solution. Airport Operator ASUR decided to redesign video security to have one system operating across all four terminals.
