IMRON launches access control system with new ACP integration, support for biometrics

IMRON Corporation has just announced that its IS2000 access control platform now integrates with the company’s ACP open hardware platform. According to the company, the new IS2000 integration includes support for biometric templates and communicates natively on TCP/IP networks. In addition to the support for biometrics, the new system also includes provisions for elevator control, anti-passback, as well as duress entry and video analysis.

“The addition of the ACP Hardware Platform provides our customers with tremendous options at a significantly reduced price point,” Imron Hussain, president of IMRON Corporation said. “We are always looking or innovative solutions that offer the best value for our customers, and we believe the ACP fulfills that expectation.”

With increasing security concerns, along with increasingly accessible hardware and technology, access control systems are becoming massively popular, and many systems are beginning to support biometrics.

According to a recently published report on the electronic access control market –in which IMRON is a player— by 2017, the total market will reach $16.3 billion, at a 7% CAGR. Biometric technologies are a major contributor to this growth.
