Johnson Controls Partners With Everbridge To Help Better Protect Organizations

Johnson Controls has entered into a technology integration and strategic reseller partnership with Everbridge, the global leader in critical event management and enterprise safety applications.

The collaboration will provide organizations with a Critical Event Management (CEM) platform to rapidly notify stakeholders in active shooter situations with event details and instructions to help manage the overall response to the threat.

“Through our partnership with Everbridge, our customers will gain the ability to receive comprehensive communications, location awareness and contextual content to help keep their people safe and their business running smoothly,” said Carolyn McGrath, senior manager, offer management, PMP, Johnson Controls.

Johnson Controls has entered into the partnership with Everbridge to leverage the company’s CEM platform to globally communicate incident details in active shooter scenarios and other critical events.

The two-way, multimodal communications via Short Message Service (SMS) text, voice, email, desktop and the Internet of Things (IoT) enabled through Everbridge’s CEM platform and award-winning Safety Connection solution is a notable differentiator along with the dynamic employee-location mapping determined from access controls systems, mobile devices and scheduling applications.

“We’re passionate about improving communication and helping organization leaders locate their people in critical situations,” said Anne Asrari, director of product management, Everbridge. “We look forward to providing Johnson Controls customers with a trusted communication management platform to help protect their workplaces in the event of an active shooter incident.”

In the event of an active shooter event, Johnson Controls customers who implement the integrated offerings will have a two-way communication path with employees, a real-time picture of employee locations and automated building lockdowns.

Everbridge also partners with Shooter Detection Systems (SDS), the industry’s leading provider of gunshot detection solutions, and another partner of Johnson Controls.

When the Everbridge CEM platform is combined with the Guardian Indoor Active Shooter Detection System from SDS, the solutions can quickly notify and locate impacted individuals, offer further assistance and initiate facility lockdown emergency response plans.

“By teaming up with Johnson Controls and Everbridge, we’ve been able to further demonstrate our commitment to helping to mitigate active shooter threats with partners that complement our mission to align the Guardian System with innovative companies dedicated to life safety,” said Christian Connors, chief executive officer, Shooter Detection Systems.

Shooter Detection Systems and Everbridge will join Johnson Controls “Active Shooter Risk Mitigation” session at the Global Security Exchange (GSX).
