NETAVIS Upgrades NVR to Combat Shellshock/Bashdoor

Shellshock, also known as Bashdoor, is a family of security bugs within Linux and Mac OS X which was disclosed in the end of September. This vulnerability of the Unix Bash shell is also part of CentOS, the operating system which is the base of NETAVIS Observer Bundled versions.

To close this security vulnerability, NETAVIS updated the Unix Bash shell in the software version Observer 4.5.2 which is ready for download at www.netavis.net.

For big installations, please consult NETAVIS support team to coordinate next steps.

For all other installations, NETAVIS recommends an update to Observer 4.5.2 including the operating system by using your valid software assurance contract.
