More Harford MD School Buses To Get Video Surveillance Cameras

Harford County (Maryland) Public Schools will more than double the number of mobile video surveillance systems inside its buses, after the Board of Education approved a $179,640 contract recently to purchase systems for 103 buses. The surveillance systems have already been installed on 95 buses, including those operated by the school system and those operated by independent contractors, Charles Taibi, director of transportation, told board members.

FAA Unveils Drone Rules; Obama Orders Policy for Agencies

The Federal Aviation Administration released Sunday its long-awaited proposal for governing small commercial drones, setting a plan for remote-controlled aircraft to share the skies with passenger planes. The FAA proposal would allow drones weighing up to 55 pounds to fly within sight of their remote pilots during daylight hours. The aircraft must stay below 500 feet in the air and fly less than 100 mph.
