Secure Redact helps K-12 districts redact students’ personally identifiable information from recorded video and sensitive documents before records are shared with parents, attorneys, law enforcement, or public agencies.
Pimloc has announced its participation in the 2026 NASRO School Safety Conference and ISTELive 26, where the company will showcase its Secure Redact platform and address the growing challenge of protecting student privacy when recorded video and sensitive records must be reviewed, redacted, and released.
The company will exhibit at the NASRO School Safety Conference in Reno, Nevada, from June 28 to July 2 at Booth #216 and at ISTELive 26 in Orlando, Florida, from June 28 to July 1 at Booth #1856.
Addressing Student Privacy Challenges In K-12 Schools
At both events, Pimloc will demonstrate Secure Redact, its AI-powered video redaction platform that helps school districts prepare video for review and release by automatically detecting and blurring faces and other personally identifiable information (PII).
The platform can integrate with existing video management systems and digital evidence management systems or operate as a standalone redaction workflow.
“Schools have access to more video than ever, and that footage can be critical when parents, attorneys or public agencies ask for answers after an incident,”
said Andre Greco, VP of U.S. Sales at Pimloc.
“But finding the right clip is only the first step. Before footage can be shared, districts need to protect every other student captured in the recording. That process is still manual in many schools, and it often falls to IT teams that do not have the time, tools or capacity to manage it at scale.”
FERPA Requirements Drive Need For Video Redaction
Under FERPA regulations, educational records containing information directly related to students must be protected. When surveillance footage qualifies as an educational record, parents are entitled to information about their own child, but not the personally identifiable information of other students captured in the same footage.
As a result, video from hallways, cafeterias, buses, classrooms, and other school environments often requires redaction before it can be shared.
For many districts, this process remains highly manual, requiring staff to review footage frame by frame using tools not specifically designed for educational privacy requirements or large-scale video requests.
Automating Video And Document Redaction
Secure Redact automates the process by allowing districts to upload recorded footage, automatically detect and redact faces and other personally identifiable information, and generate a redacted file ready for review and release.
The platform also automatically creates an audit trail, helping districts document how footage was processed and handled.
In addition to video redaction, Secure Redact supports document redaction for sensitive student records, including:
- Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- 504 Plans
- Attendance records
- Free and reduced lunch lists
- Report cards
- Other student records containing personally identifiable information
Supporting Schools With Efficient Privacy Protection
“Districts want to be responsive to families, but they also have a responsibility to protect every student who appears on screen or other sensitive documents,”
Greco added.
“Secure Redact gives schools a faster, repeatable way to process video and incident requests so they can release records more safely without adding more manual work for already stretched teams.”
K-12 leaders attending NASRO can visit Pimloc at Booth #216, while attendees at ISTELive 26 can meet the company at Booth #1856.
