The Security Industry Association has named industry veteran Edwina (Eddie) Reynolds —president and CEO of Iluminar Inc.— as the 2018 recipient of the inaugural SIA Progress Award, an honor presented by SIA’s Women in Security Forum celebrating individuals who pave the way to success for women in the security industry. Applications are now being accepted for scholarships offered through the Security Industry Association (SIA) RISE program. The SIA RISE Scholarship available to SIA RISE program participants who are employees of SIA member companies or SIA student members – provides recipients with funds for professional development.

The Security Industry Association (SIA) strongly supports S. 2495, the Students, Teachers and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Act of 2018, introduced by a bipartisan coalition of 25 U.S. senators led by Sens. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. The legislation would fund school security improvements and invest in prevention programs to stop school violence before it happens.
