HID Global showcases a new world of more seamless and secure access experiences using Ultra-Wideband technology at CES 2020. With the growing use of smartphones for mobile access plus UWB technology in place, a user can simply approach a door and opens it automatically—all without additional intervention or any intentional action from the user. The door automatically locks when the user is on the outside of the designated secure area.
HID Global announced that the government of Argentina has selected its HID goID to power the country’s digital version of its mandatory National Identity Document. The collaborative effort between HID, Argentina’s Ministry of Interior, Public Works and Housing through the National Registry of Persons (Renaper), and the Ministry of Modernization makes Argentina the first country in the world to offer a true national identity credential within a mobile app to its citizens.
HID Global announced it has expanded its digital certificate family to offer an Extended Validation Code Signing certificate that protects software from tampering and forgery. Customers who download software that has been digitally signed with the IdenTrust® TrustID® EV CS certificates can identify the source and launch its applications or other code without receiving an “Unknown Publisher” warning.
HID Global announced it has collaborated with Temenos to integrate HID’s risk-based authentication solution with Temenos Infinity and Temenos T24 Transact, the next generation in core banking. The joint offering, available on-premise or in the cloud, provides an agile, simplified path to secure digital banking, reducing the time and cost of delivering risk-based adaptive authentication, threat detection, and transaction signing on the Temenos platform.
HID Global announced it is collaborating with VMware to drive mass adoption of mobile access to digital and physical places by adding HID Mobile Access for opening buildings and doors to VMware Workspace ONE, an intelligence-driven digital workspace platform for managing any app on any device. The collaboration will make it possible for Workspace ONE users, to more securely open doors with their smartphones as part of a unified mobile experience.
HID Global has enabled BigWise to bring the security and convenience of biometrics to its retail and restaurant customers. BigWise went from concept to a pilot of its new biometric-enabled Stellar POS platform at a major customer within 30 days using the HID DigitalPersona® Fingerprint Biometric solution. Taking advantage of DigitalPersona’s intuitive biometric software development tools, BigWise added fingerprint biometrics to their POS offering in a matter of weeks.

AATL certification allows millions of users to create digital signatures that are automatically identified as being trusted whenever the document is signed with Adobe® Acrobat® DC, Acrobat Reader® DC or Adobe Sign.
HID Global announced support for Seos® enabled student IDs in Apple Wallet. Beginning this fall, students, faculty and staff at Clemson University will be able to add their IDs to Apple Wallet and use their iPhone and Apple Watch to access buildings on campus, purchase meals and much more. To support student IDs in Apple Wallet on iPhone and Apple Watch, HID provides Seos-enabled credentials, HID iCLASS SE and HID OMNIKEY readers.
The latest additions to HID Global’s portfolio address the challenges African nations face in issuing credentials to remote locations while also serving high-volume needs of large metropolitan areas. The company’s HID FARGO Connect solution enables ID cards to be issued from anywhere and any device via a web interface in a trusted environment, changing the paradigm for governments whose citizens live in distant, hard-to-reach locations with limited infrastructure.
HID Global announced it has added the HID Credential Management Service to its growing offering of cloud-based identity solutions. The service simplifies the issuance and management of trusted Public Key Infrastructure certificate-based credentials. The PKI credentials can be used by a broader range of organizations for convenient and secure multifactor authentication and converged physical access to facilities, as well as digital signing and encryption of emails and documents.

Lenel announced it has received U.S. federal government approval for its new LNL-4420 intelligent system controller with embedded authentication. Following rigorous security vulnerability and interoperability testing for Federal Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (FICAM) solutions program, Lenel’s LNL-4420 controller has been included on the General Services Administration’s Approved Product List. FICAM is a set of security disciplines designed to ensure federal systems and facilities are used by the right person, at the right time, for the right reason.
