Milestone Systems has released XProtect 2018 R2. Milestone XProtect 2018 R2 video management software introduces server-side hardware acceleration with NVIDIA, enabling lower cost solutions, as less infrastructure hardware is needed to meet customer needs. With the second VMS update this year, Milestone is continuing to pursue ever higher performing software to fulfill the market’s rising demands for cost-effective video business solutions. XProtect 2018 R2 showcases hardware acceleration of the system recording and mobile server.
Milestone Systems has released XProtect 2018 R1. Milestone is responding to the market’s rising demands for cost-effective video business solutions with this first VMS update this year. In this release, Milestone pioneers the use of multiple NVIDIA graphics cards on top of Intel GPU acceleration (Graphics Processing Unit) to achieve ultra-high performance. The XProtect Smart Client 2018 R1 and Smart Wall now support hardware acceleration, where system performance can be boosted just by adding a supported graphics card to take over the heavy lifting in decoding video, leaving room for the system to handle other tasks.
Agent Video Intelligence (Agent Vi™) announced that it has joined NVIDIA’s Metropolis Software Partner Program. Agent Vi employs NVIDIA GPUs to deliver cutting-edge intelligent video analysis via deep learning algorithms and being a part of the Metropolis Partner Program will enable Agent Vi to better leverage Deep Learning technology to create safer and smarter cities.
Milestone will show the industry’s first load balancing of multi-GPUs, hardware-accelerated decoding and video motion detection, motion metadata generation and recording of 1,000 Full HD 1080p H.264/5 cameras on a single BCDVideo BCD215 Series server —purpose-built for this project— with multiple NVIDIA GPUs.
Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), an innovator in artificial intelligence and robotics and master distributor for SMP Robotics Systems Corp., announced it is enhancing its complete line of autonomous robotic guards with the NVIDIA Jetson embedded computing platform. Using NVIDIA Jetson, an embedded AI supercomputer ideal for intelligent machines, RAD robotics can achieve higher levels of autonomy, while adding advanced people and vehicle detection on the moving robot.
NVIDIA unveiled the NVIDIA® Jetson™ TX2, a credit card-sized platform that delivers artificial intelligence computing at the edge – opening the door to powerfully intelligent factory robots, commercial drones, and smart cameras for artificial intelligence (AI) cities. Jetson TX2 offers twice the performance of its predecessor —as in it can run at more than twice the power efficiency— while drawing less than 7.5-watts of power. This allows Jetson TX2 to run larger, deeper neural networks on edge devices. The result means smarter devices with higher accuracy and faster response times for tasks like image classification, navigation, and speech recognition.
Today, at the “AI+: Perception of the Future, Integrated Development” forum and a new HIKVISION product launch was held in Beijing. During the event, HIKVISION and global industry leader in visual computing NVIDIA® jointly released the latest smart binocular video recorder. Mr. Zhang Jianzhong, NVIDIA’s Global Vice President and General Manager for China, addressed the conference and joined other experts and business leaders in various areas of artificial intelligence (AI) witnessing another milestone of AI in the application of intelligent security hardware and the promotion of smart city construction.
