Dedrone announced its acquisition of Aerial Armor, a leader in counterdrone systems and integrator of drone detection hardware. The acquisition will enable Dedrone to deliver the best-in-class technology platform to meet airspace security needs of the future as demand for counterdrone protections continues to increase in the US and around the world. As part of the acquisition, Dedrone will honor all Aerial Armor customer contracts and retain all employees, including CEO Russ Haugan and CTO Matt Altman. Customers of each company will continue with no changes to their solutions in the near term.
Dedrone announced the launch of DedronePortable, an all-in-one kit that offers comprehensive drone detection, tracking, and identification capabilities (DTI) on-the-go. In use by multiple militaries, government agencies and commercial entities around the world, DedronePortable offers Dedrone’s sophisticated machine learning technology and end-to-end defeat capabilities via a system that can be set-up, in the field, in less than 20 minutes. DedronePortable can be combined with DroneDefender to not only DTI enemy/unauthorized drones but also deny and disrupt the RF bands used by most commercial and military drones, and across the GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, SBAS, and QZSS geo-location bands.
Dedrone announced it partnered with Threat Management Group (TMG) to provide airspace security for South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) during the popular Cooper River Bridge Run. Due to the pandemic, the annual race was held twice within a six-month period, in September 2021 and again in April 2022. SLED utilized Dedrone technology to secure the airspace for runners and spectators during both events.
Nocturne Drones, one of the world’s leading providers of drone shows, is presenting a new special unit for drone defense – Nocturne Drone Defense Systems – in cooperation with San Francisco-based Dedrone. A business unit of the German company Technology Arts, Nocturne Drones specializes in unique drone shows for customers such as E.ON, Xbox and the state of Saxony-Anhalt on the Day of German Unity. Nocturne Drones recently broke a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive formations of drones. The company chose Dedrone to expand its portfolio and protect shows around the world from unauthorized drones.
Dedrone announced the launch of its first portable detection unit, DedroneRapidResponse. Dedrone detects, identifies, locates and analyzes nearly 300 drone types. The new solution offers Dedrone’s AI-powered technology in a mobile platform attached to a tower, anywhere from 30-50’ high, that can be easily towed and maneuvered on a trailer using an SUV or truck. DedroneRapidResponse, available for use around the world, provides critical capability to ensure public safety at large events including sports, parades, concerts, large gatherings, crime scenes, police activity and more.
Dedrone announced it has closed a $30.5 million Series C financing round led by Axon. Previous investors, including Aqton Partners, Menlo Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Target Partners, TempoCap and John Chambers, Chairman Emeritus of Cisco Systems and founder of JC2 Ventures, also participated. This latest funding comes on the heels of a strong year of growth for Dedrone, including surpassing 1,000 sensors sold and expanding to detect, identify and locate over 200 different drone types.
Dedrone successfully implements a citywide airspace security deployment in Southern Europe. Dedrone protects people, property, and information from drone threats across large footprint areas like cities, airports, and power plants. A major metropolitan city in Southern Europe has deployed less than a dozen DedroneSensors to detect, track and locate drones and their pilots across the city center. The protected area includes internationally renowned tourist destinations, corporate and shopping districts, residential areas, and a port encompassing 50 square kilometers.
Dedrone announces the successful implementation of Dedrone’s counter-drone technology at Preakness 146. Dedrone worked with the security team from 1/ST and the Maryland Jockey Club, owners of Pimlico Race Course, home of the Preakness Stakes, in the weeks leading up to the event for a pre-event threat assessment. On multiple occasions before race day, unauthorized drone pilots were detected and located with Dedrone enabling security teams to respond to potential threats in real-time.
