It was announced by Axon that Dedrone is now officially part of Axon. The acquisition has united two companies with a shared mission to improve public safety and national security by staying ahead of persistent and escalating threats, enabling faster, more effective responses, and ultimately protecting more lives in more places. Dedrone’s smart airspace security technology is integrated with Axon’s public safety platform to enable true drone as first responder (DFR) programs and to protect against unauthorized drone threats.

Dedrone announced the launch of its latest airspace security solution, DedroneOnTheMove (DedroneOTM). Dedrone announced that it is the first counter-drone company to receive the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (SAFETY Act) Designation status from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of SAFETY Act Implementation (OSAI). Dedrone announced it partnered with Threat Management Group (TMG) to provide airspace security for South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) during the popular Cooper River Bridge Run. Dedrone successfully implements a citywide airspace security deployment in Southern Europe. Dedrone protects people, property, and information from drone threats across large footprint areas like cities, airports, and power plants. A major metropolitan city in Southern Europe has deployed less than a dozen DedroneSensors to detect, track and locate drones and their pilots across the city center. The protected area includes internationally renowned tourist destinations, corporate and shopping districts, residential areas, and a port encompassing 50 square kilometers.
