Genetec announced that Seagate Technology has deployed Genetec Security Center to secure their global campuses and regional offices. Genetec unified security platform includes Security Center, Genetec Omnicast IP video management system (VMS) to manage more than 1,150 cameras, Genetec Synergis IP access control system (ACS) to manage more than 22,000 card holders, Sipelia to manage communications between intercoms and security operation, and Seagate’s own high-efficiency, high-performance Exos X 5U84 mass capacity storage system.

Seagate Technology plc announced its SkyHawk™ AI hard disk drive (HDD), the first drive created specifically for artificial intelligence (AI) enabled video surveillance solutions. Building on Seagate’s 10-year track record of delivering surveillance optimized storage performance, SkyHawk AI provides unprecedented bandwidth and processing power to manage always-on, data-intensive workloads, while simultaneously analyzing and recording footage from multiple HD cameras. Analytics on video surveillance hardware is growing exponentially, forecasted to increase from 27.6 million shipments in 2016 to 126 million shipments in 2021 (Cropley, 2017), as hardware manufacturers continue to include analytics sensors on network video recorders (NVRs).

British Airways I360 Reaches Unprecedented Heights, Helped By Seagate Skyhawk
British Airways i360 is a 162-meter (531 ft.) tall observation tower on the seafront of Brighton on the UK’s south coast that opened in August 2016 on the site of the famous beach town’s historic West Pier. Conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, the creators of the London Eye, British Airways i360 is the world’s tallest moving observation tower and the world’s first vertical cable car. Brighton CCTV selected Seagate as an additional partner for the project to deliver its high-capacity SkyHawk storage, purpose-built for surveillance systems with Seagate’s ImagePerfect firmware.
Seagate Integration Now Milestone Certified Solution
Milestone Systems, the globally leading open platform provider of IP video management software (VMS), announces that the integration with Seagate Technology RealStor is now a Milestone Certified Solution. The Seagate RealStor RAID storage array is compliant for meeting stringent telecommunications and military requirements for shock and vibration. The Seagate RealStor 6000 series used in the Milestone Certification Tests can scale to 448 terabytes in a single array and reach 1.9 petabytes with additional expansion shelves. Performance of up to 250,000 IOPS per disk is possible along with 12 gigabytes per second sequential reads and 5.7-gigabytes per second sequential writes.

Seagate Technology PLC: Video Surveillance Market Faster And Bigger Than Expected
Analyst Ananda Baruah at Brean Capital maintained a Buy rating for shares of Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:STX), along with a Price Target of $42 for the stock. The analyst in a research note on the company mentioned that the market for video surveillance is a much larger one and is also growing at much steadier pace than expected.
