A Common Problem Solved With Proper Surge Protection

Static electricity is more problematic when there is low humidity, no matter what the season. The issue is compounded as electronic devices today are smaller and more susceptible to electrostatic discharge. Granted, most electronics have ESD protection built in; but over time or from a constant barrage of these tiny lightning-like strikes, the protection becomes corrupted, resulting in a failure. Anytime air is warmed, this only reduces the humidity further, increasing the likelihood of a static discharge.

New Technology Speeds Up Hybrid Fiber-Wireless Networks

You might be thinking that the only way to speed up hybrid fiber-wireless networks is to expand the capacity of the wireless link. It turns out that?s just one option. A consortium of innovative thinkers from academia, equipment, and service providers has joined to eliminate another speed throttling part of the network, the termination unit or mux/demux. In January 2017, the IPHOBAC-NG consortium delivered optical 2.5 Gbit/s GPON over millimeter wave wireless without using any termination or mux/demux units between the fiber and wireless networks. They did this by developing photonic to millimeter-wave converter, which speeds up the network, simplifies networking, and lowers costs by eliminating the termination units.

Man Wrongly Jailed Can’t Sue Cops Who Ignored His Video Alibi

Retail Gets Its Shrink On

This would seem to be a simple case, a real no-brainer, based on the opening statement of an opinion by a federal appeals court judge. “Rasheed Waters sat in jail for more than a year awaiting trial for a crime he did not commit,” wrote Judge Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. “He had a verifiable alibi, based on video surveillance, which he claims the arresting officer ignored.” After viewing that video, a Montgomery County judge promptly dismissed the burglary charges that had kept Waters behind bars so unnecessarily. So, Waters can sue the cops for his troubles, right? – No.
