10-09-2013 Gallery Place retail centre in Washington needed to install a new surveillance system because the existing server had been failing. They wanted to move towards IP technology while still utilising their existing analogue system, so they worked with Urban Alarm to deploy an Exacqvision hybrid server and Exacqvision video management system (VMS) software. Gallery Place is the ultimate urban retail destination. Located in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s Chinatown neighbourhood, it is within walking distance to many landmarks including the Washington Convention Center and the Verizon Center. By installing the Exacqvision A-Series hybrid server Gallery Place was able to utilise their existing infrastructure while adding a new IP camera. The Exacqvision hybrid server combines analogue and IP camera inputs into one surveillance system. This allows the Gallery Place to easily transition to new IP technology and still use their current equipment. It also provides a scalable system for future expansion. of additional IP cameras and servers. They were able to continue to use their Pelco switch with the Exacqvision server. Since their officers were already trained on this, they felt comfortable with the system and were able to […]

Broadberry is reaching the video surveillance market by partnering with video surveillance solution providers, who package Windows Storage Server 2012 running on Broadberry servers together with cameras, video management software, and other components of a complete video surveillance solution. Mirasys, a leading provider of video management solutions for IP and analog camera surveillance, is one such Broadberry partner. Mirasys Carbon Video Management System (VMS) , the company’s flagship offering, is capable of supporting thousands of video recorders and hundreds of thousands of cameras. Components of a Mirasys Carbon solution often include: A Typical Deployment When a new hotel came to Mirasys for a future-proof, large-scale video management solution, Mirasys turned to Broadberry for the required application servers and storage servers. From a storage sizing perspective, the solution had to support more than five hundred high-resolution video cameras, with all video retained and readily accessible for 90 days—resulting in a required 500+ TB of total storage […]
