Viakoo has announced PSA Security Network as it’s latest Platinum Partner. As a Viakoo Platinum Partner, integrators within the PSA Security Network benefit from PSA co-branding within Viakoo’s products, preferential pricing and enhanced support. In support of the partnership, Viakoo will be exhibiting their RMR-generating solutions that ensure physical security systems work properly, at PSA TEC 2019.
Viakoo announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued Viakoo U.S. Patent No. 10,009,575. The patent covers a novel storage method for loss-tolerant data stream recording that dynamically allocates video data across a plurality of storage drives for reliable storage and playback. Viakoo’s innovation helps to overcome the vulnerability of storing video in RAID sets across very large scale (>8TB) hard drives, improving the overall reliability of physical security systems.
Viakoo demonstrates solutions to assist in proving and maintaining regulatory or organizational compliance at GSX 2018. The dynamic capabilities of this system help customers ensure—and prove—consistent compliance with physical security regulations across a wide range of applicable industries including: transportation, payment card processing (PCI), electrical distribution and many more. This solves a persistent challenge in these industries to help avoid the risk of fines or service interruptions.
Viakoo demonstrated innovative new offerings for physical security service assurance and sustainable cyber hygiene at GSX 2018. Viakoo is showcased two of their newest software solutions for the intersection of physical and cyber security: the new Camera Firmware Update Manager (CFUM), and the new IoT Tracker. Viakoo helps to automate the process of assuring that video surveillance is working as it should, providing an auditable record.
Viakoo features their Camera Firmware Update Manager (CFUM) at GSX 2018. This solution provides capability across a distributed geography, to automatically update firmware on camera devices from one or more vendors, and performs these updates with a chain-of-trust method that ensures integrity of the firmware. CFUM adds to other foundational capabilities provided by Viakoo that help organizations achieve reliable and sustainable cyber hygiene.
Viakoo is showcasing the dynamic capabilities of their solution to help ensure consistent compliance across industries for physical security At ISC West 2018 (Booth #33087). Working in conjunction with Coalfire, a leading cyber risk management and compliance firm, the Viakoo Predictive product was found to fully or partially automate the audit process for 38 specific physical security controls. Using automated discovery and push-button reporting from Viakoo can save significant time during an audit, and avoid expensive penalties for failing an audit.
Viakoo is introducing their Camera Firmware Update Manager (CFUM) at ISC West 2018. This product provides capability to automatically update firmware on camera devices from one or more vendors, and perform these updates with a chain-of-trust method that ensures integrity of the firmware. CFUM adds to other foundational capabilities provided by Viakoo that help organizations achieve sustainable cyber hygiene. In the past two years, a number of cyber-threats have directly targeted surveillance cameras, including well-reported malware such as WannaCry, Devil’s Ivy, and Mirai.
Viakoo is introducing a new IoT Tracker at ISC West 2018 (booth #33087). Designed to leverage their proven technology, the new IoT tracker helps to deliver verification for other IoT devices on the network. Viakoo’s unique solution has gained traction by providing a comprehensive system for ensuring that access and video surveillance devices are operating within expected parameters, alerting security officers/managers when problems arise. With the IoT Tracker, the company is doing the same for other IP-connected devices, including Wi-Fi locks, security entrances, uninterrupted power supplies, visitor management systems and more.
In today’s highly interactive and interconnected world, cybersecurity is not restricted to the IT department – it threatens and affects every connected device in every department. As connectivity continues to expand, the risks will increase. It is vital to understand what the cybersecurity threats are to physical security systems, how protections from cyber-attacks can be implemented and how security professionals must plan for incident recovery and ongoing protection. At ISC West, a panel discussion of industry experts, comprised of renowned executives representing surveillance, cloud access control, biometrics, identity management, and other categories will address these important cybersecurity topics.
Viakoo has joined Spiceworks Global IT Community and is sponsoring the Physical Security Group as of early 2018. Spiceworks’ global IT community includes millions of IT professionals, over 50,000 of which are subscribed to the Physical Security Group. Though the Physical Security Group is a recent addition to the Spiceworks Community, its rapid growth in recent years demonstrates how integral IT is becoming to many physical security professionals’ operational procedures.
