abode Systems Receives Majority Stake Investment From Nice S.p.A.

abode systems announces a strategic investment from Nice S.p.A. Through the transaction, which was public as of Friday, April 13 and reported to the Italian stock exchange, Nice will acquire 75% of abode systems with the remaining stock held by abode founders. Abode was originally founded in 2014 by former ADT executive Christopher Carney and launched on Kickstarter in 2015. The home security startup combined professional-grade security with desirable and popular smart home features and a powerful home automation engine to create what is now a well-developed smart home security space.

Parking Spotter: Milestone Community Kickstarter Contest 2017 Winner

The Milestone Community Kickstarter program was recently launched in November 2016. Participants had one month to submit their integration ideas to Milestone and those ideas would then be reviewed and narrowed down to five finalists. Those finalist would compete for the grand prize of US$10,000 cash, US$40,000 in marketing and development services, and other Milestone assistance. All five finalists were invited to MIPS 2017 in San Antonio, where they could present their ideas and solutions to other Community members, as well as to the Milestone Product Advisory Board, who then made the final selection.

Wristband Uses Encryption to Grant Access to Other Devices

A Kickstarter project aims to give you a Bluetooth Low Energy-enabled wristband that replaces keys and passwords. Everykey from the Cleveland, Ohio-based company of the same name, Everykey, is a fashionable band that can be instantly disabled if your Everykey ever gets lost or stolen. The Wristband uses encryption to grant access to other devices. When the Everykey wristband is within range of a user’s device, the wristband will allow the user to bypass that device’s password or physically unlock it automatically.
