Port of Antwerp Appoints Unifly as UTM Technology Partner, Becomes First Seaport to Manage its Airspace
In a move welcomed by those in the aviation industry, Port of Antwerp has become the first seaport to initiate unmanned air traffic management in a busy and complex port environment. In doing so, they are the first non-aviation authority to become a fully-fledged geozone manager. As geozone manager, the port will be responsible for managing ground risk related to above-the-ground activity, with respects to operational and working drones.
Security Specialists See Traditional Countermeasures as Inadequate, according to IDGA and D-Fend Survey
D-Fend Solutions and IDGA released survey results revealing that traditional counter-drone technologies, such as jamming-based and kinetic solutions, are viewed as inadequate. The counter-small, unmanned aerial systems (C-sUAS) survey collected insights from security personnel worldwide who are involved in their organization’s C-sUAS operations. Participants hailed from special forces and military, national security and homeland security.

PicPocket-Labs announces that it has been awarded US Patent No. 10,640,208 for “Drone Ba sed Systems and Methodologies for Capturing Images.” The patent pertains to an “on-demand” service which allows a user to send or request an unmanned autonomous vehicle (UAV) to a location or a target of interest (stationary or moving) for, among other purposes, media/data capture. CerbAir Shortlisted to Provide Anti-drone Solutions for the Olympic Games in 2024
An evaluation committee made up of representatives of various ministries and infrastructure operators shortlisted CerbAir as a potential supplier of counter-drone solutions for major public and sports events such as the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This program is mandated by the French General Secretariat of Defense and National Security (SGDSN) and was organized by the SAFE cluster in February 2019.
