Iris ID Biometric System Selected by Merrion Vaults
Merrion Vaults has selected biometric identity verification technology from Iris ID. Merrion Vaults rents safe deposit boxes like those found at banks, but with a significant difference? customers identities are authenticated through highly accurate iris readers to enhance security. Seamus Fahy, director, Merrion Vaults, said the iris readers are replacing fingerprint recognition systems for authenticating customer identity.
iProov Study: 90% of Americans Would Pay Extra to Renew Driver?s License Online
Americans are resoundingly in favor of renewing their driver?s licenses and other government documentation online, according to a new report from iProov. iProov, the world leader in providing face authentication technology to securely assure the identity of online users, commissioned a survey of U.S. citizens to gauge their appetite for digital services. A whopping 90% of respondents say they would pay an additional fee to renew their driver?s license online, while nearly a third (31%) admit to driving with an expired license.

Lightspin announced the results of its research, which discovered a gap between AWS Identity and Access Management user and group policies that an attacker can abuse to take over accounts, delete group members, steal data and shut down services. The research team was able to compromise dozens of accounts by using this technique. Lightspin researchers discovered that many security administrators were unaware that AWS IAM rules do not work the same way as Azure Active Directory or other authorization mechanisms.
Australian Taxation Office Extends National Digital Identity Program with Face Verification Technology from iProov
Australians will soon be able to access digital government services online after proving their identity using face verification from biometric authentication leaders, iProov. Following an open tender process, iProov was selected to provide a liveness solution for myGovID. iProov?s Genuine Presence Assurance technology will enable Australians to set up their myGovID digital identity using a simple face scan on their mobile devices. This will provide access to a range of services, including managing tax returns and accessing health services.
