OPTEX’s Enhanced Version Of Its Long-range Lidar Is Now Available
OPTEX has developed new versions of its product firmware and configuration software for its award-winning laser sensor, REDSCAN RLS-3060 series, that brings greater functionality to the existing models. Version 8.0 of the RLS-3060 series firmware and REDSCAN Manager feature a number of upgrades for the long-range, 190 degrees 2D LiDAR series. The new version brings features to the standard model 30m radius RLS-3060L that were only available in the high-end model previously.

Netherlands-based independent shipbuilders Kooiman Marine Group in Zwijndrecht have converted the dry cargo ship DC Eems into a modern 2,450 m3-capacity trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) that will operate under the new name ‘DC Brugge’ with its owner Group De Cloedt. The new CCTV system will provide assistance in managing dredging operations as well as enhance overall security aboard ship. It consists of a total of eight outdoor and indoor cameras and network equipment, including two marine dome cameras.

Crimeeye Video Footage Aids Chattanooga PD In Arrest Of Murder Suspect
The Chattanooga Police Department’s investment in the CrimeEye® video surveillance solution from Total Recall Corporation is already paying off. Video footage recorded via the CrimeEye-RD-2 rapid deployment video system was used to identify and arrest a suspect in the July 26 homicide of Desmond Clay. Clay was shot multiple times while driving and was found dead after his vehicle crashed into a local business. To investigate the crime, the Chattanooga Police Department retrieved video footage of the victim’s car recorded by an outdoor CrimeEye-RD-2 rapid deployment portable video unit.
