Although Star is primarily a guard patrol service, with workers at 125 sites throughout the state, it provides a range of security technology and consulting services. SONITROL announced that its SONITROL franchisee in Evansville, Indiana was instrumental in securing the apprehension of six crime ring members known to be in the business of stealing motorcycles. Over a holiday weekend last year, a SONITROL of Evansville Central Station Operator received an audible alarm from a local Harley-Davidson store; the Operator quickly confirmed there were intruders on site. After dispatching law enforcement, six people were apprehended, who had unlawfully entered the building with the intention to steal valuable motorcycles.

LTO Tape Capacity Shipments Reach New Record in 2021

The LTO Program Technology Provider Companies (TPCs), Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, IBM Corporation and Quantum Corporation, released their annual tape media shipment report, detailing year-over-year shipments through the fourth quarter of 2021. The report reveals 148 Exabytes (EB) of total tape capacity (compressed) shipped in 2021, marking an impressive record year for the LTO Program. With a growth rate of 40%, this strong performance in shipments continues following the previous record-breaking 114 EB capacity shipped in 2019 and 105 EB of capacity shipped in 2020 (during the pandemic).
