Harrison School District will receive Video Insight VMS licenses Video Insight – a leading developer of enterprise IP video surveillance software – is awarding the second in a year-long $250,000 School Security In-Kind Grant Program to Harrison School District Two of Colorado Springs, Colorado. As the Video Insight School Security In-Kind Grant recipient, Harrison School District will receive Video Insight Video Management Software (VMS) licenses; 16 IP video surveillance cameras; 1 video encoder that includes VMS software licenses; 10 years of software upgrades; one year of a customer assurance program; and product training. Each grant award is individually valued at more than $20,000. Harrison School Superintendent Andre D. Mini-PCs Support Analog And IP-Camera Surveillance

CompuLab unveiled two Linux-friendly, x86 based surveillance oriented mini-PCs: the Fit-CCTV supports 16 analog cameras, and the Fit-PoE supports four PoE-fueled IP cameras. In September, CompuLab announced the first four customized versions of its x86-based, 16 x 19 x 4cm Fit-PC and more powerful Intense PC mini-PCs. The fanless computers, which support 40 to 70°C extended temperature operation, were customized using CompuLab’s FACE (Function And Connectivity Extension) mezzanine module expansion socket to offer more gigabit Ethernet ports (Fit-MultiLAN), more serial and CAN ports (Fit-MultiSer), more Mini-PCI-Express sockets (Fit-MultiPCIe), and more USB ports (Fit-MultiUSB3). Dubai: A new access system that went live last Sunday in several clusters of Nakheel’s sprawling International City are proving to be a bane rather than a boon, residents told XPRESS. The new security feature, launched by regulatory authority Trakhees earlier this year, is estimated to affect thousands, including residents, restaurant, laundry and grocery delivery boys. Most of them have spoken out in unison against the new restrictions. Syrian Fadi Mohammad, a tenant in the Persia Cluster who owns a fast food joint in the adjoining France Cluster, is ill at ease with the new system on both counts. “I have yet to get an access card. It’s not my fault. My landlord hasn’t paid his service fees. It’s been a struggle to get into my apartment ever since this new system began a few days ago,” he says. “I am also at the receiving end as a service provider. My delivery boys end up spending more time as customers have to come down and open the doors to collect their orders,” he adds. Another Syrian resident, Loy, says his neighbour had to wait for almost 20 minutes for someone to arrive before he could enter the building around midnight after work because there was no watchman on duty at that time.
