Interface Security Systems announced a new AI-based Anti-Loitering System designed to prevent intrusions before they happen. The system features an AI-based object detection system that can detect people or vehicles and trigger pre-recorded, scenario-specific voice messages to deter loitering. The Anti-Loitering System can be customized by loss prevention teams to play different warning and notification messages depending on location and dwell time.
ACRE announced the acquisition of TDS based in Dublin, Ireland. This purchase will enhance ACRE’s strategic expansion plans for strengthening the product portfolio and geography in the UK and Europe and bringing new cloud-based visitor management and access control products to North America. This is ACRE’s first acquisition since being acquired March 11 by Triton Partners. TDS provides cloud-based workspace solutions that will complement the existing ACRE portfolio.
TrustGrid Pty announced a new use case for its platform to provide citizens with a secure digital vaccine passport that can be stored on their smartphone. TrustGrid™ has been used for the last five years by the Australian state government to secure a digital driver’s license ecosystem. Designed using distributed ledger technology, TrustGrid is an opt-in system where citizens can authenticate their identity and vaccination status and receive a QR code to show as proof of vaccination.
SAFR announced it was awarded its third Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract. The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) announced its Secure Credential Interoperability (SCI) initiative and a working group to advance its development. The SCI specification supports NFC, ISO14443, and Bluetooth (BLE) and therefore can accommodate all device types including cards, mobile devices, and wearables. The group has already prepared a draft specification for apps, readers, and locks featuring BLE compatibility.

Merrion Vaults has selected biometric identity verification technology from Iris ID. Merrion Vaults rents safe deposit boxes like those found at banks, but with a significant difference– customers identities are authenticated through highly accurate iris readers to enhance security. Seamus Fahy, director, Merrion Vaults, said the iris readers are replacing fingerprint recognition systems for authenticating customer identity.

Americans are resoundingly in favor of renewing their driver’s licenses and other government documentation online, according to a new report from iProov. iProov, the world leader in providing face authentication technology to securely assure the identity of online users, commissioned a survey of U.S. citizens to gauge their appetite for digital services. A whopping 90% of respondents say they would pay an additional fee to renew their driver’s license online, while nearly a third (31%) admit to driving with an expired license.
