StoneLock announced that it will be will be unveiling its newest biometric-centric solution, StoneLock Gateway, at ASIS 2017. StoneLock Gateway is designed to deliver a seamless integration pathway for enterprise-level security. Princeton Identity Upgrades Access Control System With Biometric Iris Recognition At Elder Care Facility
Princeton Identity has recently implemented an iris recognition system at Brevillier Village, a long term care and independent residential/retirement facility in Erie, Pennsylvania, that will make access control procedures easier and more convenient for both residents and staff. According to Jean LaFuria, Vice President of Residential Services, Brevillier Village, there were problems on-site when residents had difficulty using the access control keypads to move about the facility. A variety of options were investigated, including larger keypads to increase visibility, but none were an ideal solution.

4-Seconds of Body Cam Video Can Reveal a Biometric Fingerprint, Study Finds
Any camera will do, as long as it’s attached to your body. Researchers say they can have computers examine body camera video footage and accurately identify a person wearing a body-mounted device in about four seconds, according to a recently released paper. The authors of the study had their software look at biometric characteristics like height, stride length, and walking speed to find the identity of the person shooting the footage.

Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles to Trial New Self-Serve Biometric Kiosk
Called FasTrack, the new kiosks will use facial recognition software to verify the identity of the customer, which is why FasTrack customers will only initially be allowed to renew existing licenses or identifications. The registry currently uses a similar system as part of its desk operations, said Ms. Blue. In addition to verifying the identities of customers, the new kiosks will also notify customers to get their hair out of your face, take off their hat, or look directly into the camera.
