ProdataKey’s New Rugged Readers are Weatherproof and Vandal-proof
ProdataKey announced the release of its new “rugged” readers for use with 125 kHz cards and fobs. The new units, available in single-gang and mullion style, with or without keypads, improve upon PDK’s former “ruggedized” readers by combining exceptional weatherproof and vandal-proof specifications within the same model. The new rugged readers feature an IP68 weatherproof rating, making them fully waterproof and dust-tight, and an IK10 impact-resistance rating – the highest rating possible. These qualities make them ideal for building exteriors, gates, commercial areas, industrial sites, and construction yards. They are also a good choice for schools, given their resiliency against student vandalism. The readers can be used as part of any pdk.io access control system.

ProdataKey and Altronix Future-Proof Premium Office Tower for Tenants
ProdataKey is combining efforts with Altronix. Both organizations announced today that their solution has been deployed to secure Fairbourne Office Tower, the newest premium commercial building in West Valley City, Utah. Summit Technology, an IT solutions provider headquartered in Salt Lake City, installed the building-wide solution at the behest of its client, Wasatch Commercial Management (WCM). Fairbourne Office Tower is a nine-story property with an adjacent parking structure located within Fairbourne Station, a new 40-acre, mixed-use development.
ProdataKey Expands High-Security Red Line with New Controllers Ideal for Midsize to Large-Scale Projects
ProdataKey has introduced four new controllers that expand the flexibility of its high-security Red line: the PDK Red 8, Red Max, Red Gate, and Red Pedestal. The new PDK Red 8 and PDK Red Max are all-in-one multi-controller and power supply enclosures designed to streamline ordering and installation of access control hardware in midsize to large-scale commercial projects. The Red 8 features a 10-amp power supply and two PDK Red 4 boards capable of supporting a total of 8 doors.
ProdataKey Adds Bluetooth to High-Security Red Readers
ProdataKey announced that its new high-security Red Readers will soon feature mobile credential functionality, allowing them to communicate with smartphones via Bluetooth. The Red Readers can be ordered to additionally support high-frequency smartcards and low-frequency communication, offering users the widest possible choice of credentialing options for use with a single device. Red Readers support OSDP protocol as well as Weigand.
ProdataKey Adds Anti-Passback to Access Control Capabilities
PDK has added Anti-Passback to the programmable features of its pdk io cloud access control platform. Anti-Passback requires individuals who have scanned through an entry reader to scan out through a corresponding exit reader before their credentials can be used to re-enter the premises. By requiring credentials to be used in an “in–out–in” sequence, cardholders cannot “pass back” their access card or credential-enabled mobile device to another person.
