AxxonSoft Unveils Version 4.9.0 Of Its Axxon Intellect Enterprise

AxxonSoft has released version 4.9.0 of the Axxon Intellect Enterprise PSIM platform. This version is focused on new capabilities and features that are taking Axxon Intellect to the next level of performance and efficiency. Here are the key new features in the version: Axxon Intellect Enterprise 4.9.0 transmits video and performs forensic search of recorded video on 64-bit computing platforms. This allows boosting security system performance. 64-bit versions of the Video and Forensic Search modules blow away the RAM limits that are inherent to 32-bit systems. This flexibility is essential at large and geographically dispersed sites, as well as at sites that make extensive use of HD video and forensic detection tools. 64-bit modules offer a performance boost, which can mean enormous savings. By reducing the number of computers needed to support a given number of cameras, this 64-bit modernisation can have a substantial positive impact on the bottom line. Axxon Intellect Enterprise 4.9.0 is capable of multi-streaming, which means that it can offer several video streams from IP cameras. By dedicating a stream for video analytics, you can apply the full range of abilities of forensic video analysis at your site. Axxon Intellect 4.9.0 server is able to receive up to four video streams, which can be used for three different purposes: for display on a local monitor and for streaming to remote workstations; archive recording; video analytics. Multistreaming makes the most of its potential when combined with another new tool – Green Stream, which automatically selects the […]

Digital Watchdog Acquires Award Winning Innovative Security Designs IP-Camera Manufacturer

The NVRPRO Network Video Recorders from Genie CCTV come with Dual Network Cards which enable connection to different network segments. This maximises network efficiency and improves CCTV security the makers say. The Dual IP Application allows users to communicate between remote WAN access and the IP video system without compromise to the separated recording networks bandwidth. It also reduces susceptibility of unauthorised access to the recorder and the IP cameras. Besides the security and data protection, Genie says its product makes the management of video much easier and more flexible. A range of WAN IP addresses can be stored into the product management set up programme which only allows authorised security managers and users to access the system. Within the LAN IP Management System only administered LAN IP addresses can access video, meaning that non-registered LAN computer users cannot interfere with the system. Having a video network dedicated to one of the LAN ports on the recorder alleviates network bandwidth requirements, the manufacturers add, as only the IP cameras reside on this private ‘video network connection’. This means authorised WAN/ Intranet/Internet users do not ‘load traffic’ within the video surveillance network. Web: www.geniecctv.com

Retailer Paul Smith Goes IP

Video management software (VMS) with network cameras are being deployed across all of Paul Smith’s 45 stores as part of the UK-based retailer’s first company-wide IT refresh. Initially the new digital video system is being used for loss prevention but once it is fully in place worldwide by the end of 2015, Paul Smith plans to use it for business intelligence to assist retail operations management. Paul Smith has been an early adopter of IP and cloud-based services. In 2001 it migrated to IP telephony, installing a Cisco IPT network. Embracing the latest IT management approaches (including use of open-architected and Microsoft-based systems), the company has been able to maintain a relatively small network services team despite growth. Paul Smith has a retail presence in 35 countries. This approach means that when new IT challenges present themselves, Paul Smith’s Head of IT, Lee Bingham, pictured, looks for standards-based products that can be scaled up. He specifies that new systems and services must last a minimum of ten years because he simply does not have the manpower or budget to go on replacements of devices and software. Paul Smith’s legacy CCTV had grown organically as the group expanded. When the IT department was asked to take over running Paul Smith’s CCTV, Lee Bingham insisted that it must be moved to IP video and be visible on the corporate network: “If it’s not IP then it’s not IT, and therefore it made no sense to move it from our Facilities Management […]

Fort McDowell Casino Finds Its VMS Partner In DW Spectrum

Operated by Arizona’s Yavapai Nation, Fort McDowell Casino has traveled a long and winding road in its quest to convert from analog to IP.     Courtesy of Fort McDowell Casino Since opening the first bingo hall in Arizona in 1983, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation has expanded to become the Fort McDowell Resort and Casino, comprising 128,000 square feet of slot machines, a 1,800-seat bingo hall, 18 blackjack tables and 20 pocket tables, as well as a number of food and beverage venues, a golf course and a resort hotel. Security for gaming and back-of-house areas is overseen by the Fort McDowell Tribal Gaming Office (FMTGO), which has maintained and fully provisioned surveillance coverage and compliance prior to each expansion initiative. The sometimes volatile growth has fostered a strong DIY culture with regard to surveillance, leading the tribe to embrace a culture of system design and full systems integration capabilities. As a result, FMTGO surveillance techs and management are routinely called upon to design, source, build and install off-site camera systems and other low-voltage solutions for nearby locations including courtrooms, schools, community centers and mobile safety buildings. All of these projects are provided without using local integrators for design and labor services, and the only interaction with surveillance providers is confined to equipment orders only. In 2004, following management changes, FMTGO accepted a proposal from a local systems integrator to convert the existing system from VCR to DVR recording — the first time the tribe diverged from its […]
